More about Cameron Bruce…
In 2009, at the age of 17 and while still at high school, Cameron Bruce made the Top Ten of the South African leg of the popular Reality TV show ‘Idols’. His soothing vocal style and talented guitar playing revealed (he started playing age 7) he decided to make music his first priority ahead of his other love Sport, where he also excelled in Rugby and Swimming.
Accepted to Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2010 a shortage of funding meant his studying was confined to a correspondence curriculum but we’re pleased to note this has not stopped him achieving Straight A’s!
When not studying or practicing his craft he is passionately entertaining an ever swelling fanbase of Gauteng gig-goers with the deft guitar work and arresting lyrics of his polished mix of blues, rock and pop and while original he does admit to deriving a fair amount of artistic inspiration from diverse bag including the expressive songwriters John Mayer and James Morrison as well as his guitar heroes Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
August 2011 sees Cameron release his debut radio single (and accompanying music video) “I didn’t mean to come around” and an album is in the works.
